Beautiful shoes - but
"This is my second set of leather shifts, which I’ve been really happy with, but these almost seemed like dress shoes. The leather and finish is excellent but they seemed stiffer than they needed to be and just too polished, like Florsheim shoes or something. They were cushioned enough but very stiff and I found while driving they often didn’t transition well from the gas to the brake pedal causing them to partially stay on the gas while I’m trying to slow down. The rubber on these soles is really “sticky”, causing them to not slide over easily. I will keep them and hopefully they’ll “break in” but I do not recall having to do this either my first set. Hence my 4 star review."
Most comfortable pilotis I have
"Unlike the white full leather shifts the black ones or any other nubuck shifts, feel like slippers right out of the box. They fit perfectly and just get more comfortable the softer the leather gets. As far as pedal feel for pilotis these are the best I've had out of the 3 different varieties I have so far."

"I've been really happy with my Pilot - Shift shoes. I ordered a 10-wide but probably could have gone with a 9. 5 as they are a little big. Lets hope they hold up."

"Have black suede (not sure model). Love them. Well made, consistent quality inside and out, from one shoe to other. Have them in Wide and they fit as they should for the size I have. Only regret is that you don't have wide option in any of the ankle high models like the drift mid. Also more colors please!"

"I have tried 4 different pairs from the Icona to the Shift and I just could not get them to fit comfortably. They are made from gorgeous materials and I dig the style, but I’m bummed I could not get a pair to drive with that I liked."

"Not only are these great looking but also comfortable right out of the box and the pedal feel is awesome. I bought a leather cleaning kit and clean them every few weeks and condition the leather and they look new every time. Truly good quality crafted shoes"

Love the shoes - Sizing?
"The shoes are fantastic. Love the color, matches my car perfectly, and the comfort. Sizing with Piloti seems to be a bit of a Scooby Doo mystery I have not quite cracked. I typically wear a 10. 5 in most shoes. I purchased an 11 in the Icona, as it was all that was available and figured it would not be too big, it was tight. I used a shoe stretcher and have been breaking them in slowly and all is well. When grabbing the Shift I figured an 11 would be way to go again. They were too big. Not wanting to play the send back repeatedly game and thinking 10 may have been too small I went with the 10. 5. They fit with no issue but the 10 would have been better. Moral of the story sizing seems to be shoe to shoe and not universal, at least for me. Still highly recommended shoes! Once you get your size right."
